Strong IPO Pipeline & Fundraising Outlook in India
9/23/2025

India’s primary markets are gearing up for a blockbuster finish in 2025. Despite global uncertainty and domestic economic headwinds, IPO activity is expected to outshine 2024, powered by regulatory reforms, robust valuations, and a strong pipeline of companies preparing to list. Fintech players, foreign subsidiaries and large consumer-tech firms are all lining up for big-ticket public offerings.
Key Numbers and Market Momentum :
In 2024, India raised roughly $20 billion through over 90 public offerings, making it the world’s second-largest IPO market after the U.S. By mid-2025, nearly half that amount has already been mobilised and filings show billions more in the pipeline. Analysts expect total fundraising in 2025 to exceed last year’s levels as approvals speed up and investor appetite stays strong.
Big Names on the Radar :
Pine Labs is eyeing a billion-dollar listing to fund technology expansion and overseas growth. Online investment platform Groww has filed updated papers for an issue of about ₹7,000 crore, backed by strong revenue growth and recent profitability. Foreign subsidiaries, including the Indian arm of LG, are also expected to tap the markets, highlighting the global confidence in India’s capital markets.
Regulatory Tailwinds :
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has simplified and accelerated the IPO approval process, cutting timelines for clearance and easing public float requirements for large issuers. Big firms with post-listing market caps above ₹5 trillion can now list with a lower minimum public share sale, which reduces barriers for mega issues and encourages more global participation.
Factors Driving Valuations :
Domestic and foreign investors continue to show strong appetite for Indian equity, particularly in fintech, e-commerce, renewable energy and healthcare. Robust earnings growth, demographic tailwinds and high-quality deal flow are sustaining healthy valuations even as global markets face volatility.
Risks to Watch :
While the outlook is strong, potential risks include rising interest rates, global market volatility, and possible foreign capital outflows. Overheated valuations may lead to repricing of some issues if sentiment turns. Companies must also deliver strong post-listing performance to justify investor confidence.
India’s IPO market is on track to surpass 2024’s fundraising record. The combination of a deep pipeline of marquee listings, favourable regulatory changes and solid investor demand positions 2025 as a landmark year for primary market activity.
